Can we program our lives, the way we want?

In Organo

Yes, we can.

But let’s take a look at a working-person’s life – whether you own your own company or even a stay-at-home parent, man or woman – the work load is immense.

You start your day bright and early in order to get the morning “rituals” completed before work. No matter how you plan your mornings, you always find your coffee tepid and cold. If you have to travel to your job, precious hours are wasted there sitting in all that traffic stressed and breathing in all that dangerous pollution.

stressThen you work. Nine hours day in and day out, only to sit in more pollution and traffic while coming back to your family/house, totally exhausted. But it doesn’t end there – there’s always more that has to be done: running to the shop for groceries, cooking dinner, spending time with your kids, cleaning up later, maybe a chilled beer while catching up for a precious few minutes updating your special someone.

Once you start your day there is just no stopping. By the time your head hits the pillow, it’s morning again. And it just keeps going on and on and on. No break. Even on the weekends!

Most people I have talked to these days chuckle when I enquire about their “restful weekends”. Thinking about it, I agree. There is always something happening at the weekends: relatives visiting, friends to meet up with, bills to finally get around to paying, family outings, shopping, house work – there is no end to the many weekend to-dos.

Before you know it, it’s Monday!

Parenting-work-stressNo wonder “Monday blues” is such a real thing with the world these days.

This type of schedule is far from healthy as so many aspects in life get taken for granted. Sleep gets lessened and restless, finances deplete, and stress enters bringing with it enumerable sicknesses, disorders, and diseases. Most hardly have time to even exercise!

According to recent research, Scientists believe that humans need Four Pillars in order to lead a healthy life.

“The Four Pillars are the timeless areas of humans’ lives known to be the foundation of health and success. Together they prop up your life, provide unshakable stability, and prepare you for a life well lived. “

These are:

1). Spiritual Development

- Find meaning and our calling in life, exercise gratitude, and follow our conscious. It is the most important pillar as it separates us from the animal kingdom.

2). Physical Development

Exercise, balanced diet, a healthy schedule, lifestyle and habits to be able to accomplish goals and plans (work)

3). Social Development

Fosters physical and mental wellness. We humans cannot live without it. When not followed, it becomes one of the most important causes of pain and suffering worldwide.

4). Personal Development

Create a vision, proper sense of self-worth, find out what life’s path is by learning about ourselves, and give expression to our creativity. This can only happen when we take the time to be alone, get to know ourselves, learning how and why we respond to situations or people the way we do. In a word: Introspect

It’s not a long list of needs, but it is astonishingly difficult to fit into our current lives. How will we be able to fit these pillars into our schedules?

Simple.

Shifting away into a life.on.slow.track is the solution.

It doesn’t change the amount of work that needs to get done each day, but what it does is bring the Pillars to you.

Let’s go through the above schedule one more time, this time, on a slow track:

raj.coffeeYou start your day bright and early in order to get the morning “rituals” completed before work. Yet it is all enhanced by the green outside your window which brings an unusual sense of peace and tranquillity through the house. Your morning mug of caffeine enjoyed out on the patio or the spacious balcony. Cold or hot, the view is always fine. If you have to travel to your job, there is no problem now as you hit highway and are able to get to your destination quickly, stress-lessly and without too much pollution.

Then you work. Nine hours (yes, still day in and day out), yet you know when you get home you not only have your loved ones to greet you but luscious, green outdoors too. Shopping comes straight to your doorstop.

And it doesn’t end there! There’s always a spot or few to relax in that caters to all age-groups: Clubhouse, Cultural Activities, Cafe, an alfresco restaurant, maybe a chilled beer out on your terrace or patio while barbequing dinner together so you can catch up on the day’s events with your special someone. This list never ends. The combinations are endless.

Once you start your day, there are so many options. By the time your head hits the pillow, it’s another wonderful morning again. And it just keeps going. Breathers everywhere. Even on the weekends!

family

Even if you’ve got family over, friends who want to catch up, family outings, etc, there are so many options that will keep all happy every time. Better yet – there is none of the normal, conventional bills to pay! You live on a self-sustainable community; it all takes care of itself. Most of the occasional bills that may arise can be taken care of digitally and swiftly, without even having to leave your house. How amazing is that?

Now here is a question for you: if given the option, what would you choose?

Live wisely. Live life.on.a.slow.track.
