Family Life
As business partners with shared love for the outdoors, Naveen and Prathima recount their contrasting but complementary origins. Naveen moved around quite a bit, absorbing the robust community spirit that marked his childhood. He warmly recalls, "In all these places, we lived in small communities. You could just go out and play with kids,"reflecting his appreciation for the sense of unity that community living fosters.
Meanwhile, Prathima spent her childhood in sprawling homes with expansive kitchen gardens, cared for by her grandmother. These gardens were more than just a source of food; they were a testament to a lifestyle dedicated to sustainability and a close relationship with the earth. Prathima shares,"My grandmother grew most of our food... She may not have known the words sustainability and reuse, but that was how she lived." This early exposure to sustainable living deeply ingrained a respect for the environment in her, a value she holds dear to this day.
Discovering Organo Kandawada
The couple's return to India marked a quest to find a home that resonated with their values of community living and sustainability. It was during this journey that they discovered Kandawada, a sustainable community of Organo eco-habitats. The moment of revelation was profound, with Naveen remembering, "We happened to visit a friend in the gated community we're currently living in… but we knew we were actually looking for something like Organo Naandi." This aligned with their desire for an environmentally-conscious community for their children.
Prathima echoed the sentiment, joyfully recalling their decision to invest in Organo Kandawada,"When they announced Kandawada, we met the team and sealed the deal." The green community was a perfect match for their shared values of nature, community, and sustainability.
Tracing the Childhood and Personal Journey
Naveen and Prathima's childhood experiences strongly influenced their personal journey and decision-making. Naveen's small-town upbringing fostered a deep love for community, which he wishes for his own children.Reflecting on his life in the US, Naveen acknowledges that the experience made him value the community feeling he remembered from his childhood in India.
For Prathima, her grandmother's lifestyle left a lasting impact, shaping her commitment to sustainable living. Even in the US, where convenience often trumps sustainability, Prathima missed the warm familiarity of Indian culture and the sense of community that came with it.
These individual experiences eventually led to a mutual understanding of the importance of community living and sustainability.Returning to India brought these principles into focus as they searched for a place to call home. When they discovered Organo Kandawada, they knew it was the perfect fit. It embodied Naveen's love for community and Prathima's passion for sustainability, symbolizing their shared vision of a harmonious and sustainable living environment.
