Introduction

Imagine waking up to the sound of birdsong, soft sunlight filtering through your window, and a gentle breeze filling the space with fresh air. This is life at Organo Aloor, an eco-habitat on the outskirts of Hyderabad, where the architecture seamlessly integrates with nature. Designed with sustainability at its core, Organo Aloor creates a dialogue between contemporary living and the natural landscape, offering residents a chance to reconnect with the rhythms of the environment. Here, architecture isn't just about buildings—it's about crafting spaces that breathe, adapt, and coexist with their surroundings.

Organo Aloor is a forest home- community currently on our drawing boards.  It is at an early stage of development and we are actively exploring and refining the idea.

Where Modernity Meets Nature's Canvas

Picture a haven of modern elegance – clean lines, expansive living areas, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing breathtaking views. Each house, a contemporary masterpiece, features a spacious 3+1 BHK duplex layout, perfect for families. The design cleverly blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor living, offering a sense of tranquility in every room.

A Dramatic Arrival Awaits

As you navigate the forest trails leading to your house, anticipation builds. The entrance foyer seamlessly integrates with the landscape, creating a sense of wonder. A traditional jali wall with wooden columns adds a touch of cultural charm, while a dramatic reveal awaits you inside – a double-height living area bathed in natural light. Earthy terracotta pots adorn the ceiling, adding a touch of warmth and authenticity. This space is a harmonious blend of artistry and functionality, a welcoming oasis celebrating nature's beauty.

Light, Space, and Uninterrupted Vistas

Imagine expansive windows framing breathtaking views of the lush forest. Natural light floods the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas, fostering a sense of connection and togetherness. A skylight above adds a touch of magic, casting a dance of shadow and light throughout the day. Thoughtfully planned green buffers ensure privacy when desired.

Courtyards that Uplift, Balconies that Extend

Image 5: Open-to-sky courtyard with lily pond.

Open-to-sky courtyards aren't just architectural features; they're portals to the sky above. Picture stepping out onto your private balcony, the cool morning air caressing your skin, and the gentle symphony of nature filling your ears.  A lily pond with the soothing sound of trickling water creates a sense of calm. A weathered wooden rowboat resting on the water's surface adds a touch of nostalgia, its presence whispering stories of past adventures.

Image 6: Essence of forest seeping inside the house through the Courtyard.

The beautifully designed green wall in your private courtyard acts as a natural sound and visual barrier, providing both privacy and a peaceful retreat. Its lush foliage enhances the ambiance, offering a refreshing and tranquil oasis away from neighboring units. Enjoy the soothing sights and sounds of nature right outside your door.

The balconies, along with extended decks in each bedroom, seamlessly bridge the gap between indoor and outdoor living.  In the morning, the balcony becomes a stage for the sun's gentle awakening. Throughout the day, it's a sanctuary of contemplation, offering a front-row seat to the mesmerizing dance of the trees and the ever-changing symphony of nature's melodies. At dusk, the balcony transforms into a magical space where the sky ignites with color, casting a warm glow upon the forest.

A Rooftop Oasis Beckons

Which is the best part of the house one might assume, the green terrace of course. A sprawling green stepped roof that transforms into your personal sanctuary. Imagine tending to your very own rooftop kitchen garden, the scent of fresh herbs mingling with the crisp forest air. Or simply relax and bask in the sunshine amidst the verdant embrace of nature.

The earth filling for the stepped terrace is a versatile asset, keeping spaces cool in summer and warm in winter. It also provides a fertile ground for gardening, ensuring your plants thrive while contributing to a comfortable and sustainable outdoor environment.

A Sustainable Sanctuary by Design

Organo Aloor isn't just about aesthetics; it's a philosophy of living in harmony with the environment. The community design is guided by Sapthapatha, seven principles for sustainability. These principles influence every design decision, from master planning to home and furniture designs.

The 7 strands of sustainability, which is a framework through which we design & measure the impact across 7 aspects- earth, people, shelter, water, air, food, and energy. At the unit level, this is how we are implementing it:

Earth: Recycling, composting, waste-to-energy, and source reduction are a few waste management practices planned in the community.

People: Thoughtfully planned social nodes in the community facilitate interfamilial and intergenerational interactions. From residents to caretakers, from kids to elderly,  everyone plays a role in building a thriving eco-community.

Shelter:  Passive cooling strategies such as earth berming. The earth's insulation properties help maintain a consistent indoor temperature and lessen the need for artificial heating and cooling.

Water: The community is planned as a water-balanced, water-secure, and zero-discharge community. The wastewater that goes out from the homes is treated at the site before being discharged. Furthermore, the homes will be installed with energy-efficient water fixtures.

Air:  The forest areas are planted with native trees and plant species that can grow easily purify the air and create a cooler microclimate for the community. Private courtyards and small green pockets are provided to cool the indoor spaces naturally.

Food: The rooftop kitchen garden allows the residents to grow their safe and healthy food. The community helps the residents to transfer from a consumer to a prosumer mindset.

Energy:  The tree-inspired solar panel structure on the roof will help fulfill the energy needs of the home and the community.

So that these thoughtfully designed homes blend seamlessly with the landscape, maximizing green spaces and helping the residents foster a deep connection with nature. Here, sustainability isn't a chore; it's a way of life.

Way Forward

Organo Aloor isn't just a collection of houses; it's an invitation to reconnect with yourself and the natural world. Here, you can experience the timeless beauty of nature woven into the fabric of your everyday life. With sustainability as its core and rurban living as its hallmark, Organo Aloor's forest-homes promise not just a home, but a harmonious lifestyle where modernity and nature coexist in perfect harmony.

As we embark on the path to develop sustainable eco-habitats, we may inevitably encounter various roadblocks along the way. However, we don't perceive these challenges as dead ends; instead, we see them as opportunities to overcome and grow. Each obstacle is a chance to innovate, adapt, and reinforce our commitment to creating environmentally conscious living spaces. Our journey is defined not just by the destination, but by the resilience and determination with which we navigate the obstacles on the road to sustainable development. Keep an eye on our blogs to learn more about our journey.
